Disadvantaged Business Enterprise or DBE
The Town of Breckenridge Free Ride Transit System has filed its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Plan with the Federal Transit Administration in accordance with 49 CFR Part 26. A copy of the amended plan may be downloaded below. As part of its DBE Plan, the Free Ride will offer technical assistance and information related to DBE to encourage qualified DBE firms to register for certification status and participate in the procurement process. An informational flyer regarding DBE is available for download below.
What is a DBE?
DBEs are for-profit small business concerns where socially and economically disadvantaged individuals own at least a 51% interest and also control management and daily business operations. African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific and Subcontinent Asian Americans, and women are presumed to be socially and economically disadvantaged. Other individuals can also qualify as socially and economically disadvantaged on a case-by-case basis.
