Pets on Bus

Legitimate ADA Service Animals are allowed on the Free Ride at all times. Service animals serve in a working capacity for individuals with disabilities and meet specific criteria.  The Americans with Disabilities Act does not recognize "comfort' or "emotional support" animals.

In general, pets are not permitted on-board. Limited exception may be made for Non-service, small dogs or domestic animals under the control of a responsible guest, at the discretion of the Transit Operator.

For safety and convenience, any such approved small domestic animals must be carried in secure lap-sized containers and out of the way of exits. Owners are responsible for maintaining control of the animal. Barking for instance is not acceptable or conducive to safe operations.

Any guest traveling with an animal may be expelled if the animal’s behavior compromises the safe operation of Free Ride Services or otherwise poses a threat to the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

The Free Ride does not have the resources to collect pet shot records and record the registration of animals, nor the room to safely transport large pet containers, which is why we are unable to let all pets ride. We apologize for the inconvenience.
